Golden Temple in Amritsar

Standing in the centre of a large tank, Amrit Sarovar, the Golden Temple is the most beautiful aspect of Amritsar. The city of Amritsar was built around the Golden Temple and the Amrit Sarovar Lake, from which it derives its name. Originally named Sri Harmandir Sahib, the temple complex is surrounded by a fortified wall with eighteen gates and has its main north entrance under a Victorian clock tower known as the Darshani Deori. The entrance is up a flight of steps and down again to the temple and holy tank.

Visiting hours: The temple remains open on all days and can be visited from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm in the summer months and 5:00 am to 9:00 pm in winter months. Read more about what tourists have to say about that Tripadvisor/Golden-Temple

durgiana-temple

durgiana-temple

Durgiana Temple , is temple of religious importance for the hindus. In close proximity to the Railway station and the Bus stand, the Durgiana Mandir owes its existence to Guru Shai Mal Kapoor, a religious leader who proposed the idea of the temple. It is his statue in a sitting position that stands immortalised outside the main temple entrance, also called the Darshani Deori. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya laid the foundation stone of the temple in the year 1924, on the occasion of Ganga Dashmi.

Wagah – Border Ceremony

An extremely beautiful palace in the centre of the city. It is said that it was the royal seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, who belonged to the Kachwaha Rajput Clan. In order to preserve the heritage of the bygone era, few portions of the City Palace have been converted into museums and galleries. As one enters the palace complex, the very first thing that is likely to catch his eye are the richly decorated gateways. A must visit for every tourist in Jaipur!

This interesting ceremony takes place every evening before sunset at the Wagah Border. Know more

Day 2

Visit Golden Triangle

After breakfast & check out form Hotel we will be heading straight to Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib.

The Golden Temple Amritsar India is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace and religious fulfilment without any hindrance. It also represents the distinct identity, glory and heritage of the Sikhs. To pen-down the philosophy, ideology, the inner and outer beauty, as well as the historical legacy of Sri Harimandir Sahib is a momentous task. It is a matter of experience rather than a of description.

Visit Jallia Wala Bagh (Huge Historical Importance in India’s Freedom Fight)

Noted for its most infamous massacre under British rule, Jallianwala Bagh is a beautiful public garden that houses a memorial of national importance. Located in the vicinity of the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh is one of the major tourist attractions of Amritsar.

Visit Durgiana Temple

Our next stop after city palace , the Hawa Mahal. One of the most visited monuments in Jaipur. The Hawa Mahal means the “Palace of the Winds” and this name is in reference to the clever cooling system which propagates a gentle breezes through the inner rooms even during the intense Rajasthan summers. This ingenious design has been completely lost after a recent renovation in which windows were installed behind each of the lattice openings, so today the palace of winds has no wind.
